A Training on “Weed Management and Herbicide Spraying Techniques in Hybrid Rice and Hybrid Maize along with Distribution of Critical Inputs” was held on 30th July 2025 at Khukkham village, Kundam block, Jabalpur under the Farmer FIRST Programme

A training programme on “Weed Management and Herbicide Spraying Techniques in Hybrid Rice and Hybrid Maize along with Distribution of Critical Inputs” was organized on 30th July 2025 at Khukkham village, Kundam block, Jabalpur under the Farmer FIRST Programme (FFP).

The event was coordinated by Dr. Deepak Pawar and Dr. Jamaludheen A. (Scientists and Co-PIs) and facilitated by Dr. Monika Raghuwanshi, Senior Research Fellow, FFP. A total of 34 farmers, including 9 Mahila Kisans, actively participated in the programme. Dr. P. K. Mukherjee, Principal Scientist and Principal Investigator, delivered an insightful lecture on the importance of weed management in hybrid rice and hybrid maize, with emphasis on appropriate herbicide use, safe spraying techniques and precautionary health and environmental measures.

As part of the programme, herbicides were distributed to the adopted farmers for hybrid rice and hybrid maize as critical inputs. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepak Pawar.
