A one-day training programme and Farmers-Scientists Interface cum Input Distribution was organized at Dungariya village, Mandla district, under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of the ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research (ICAR-DWR), Jabalpur.
The programme witnessed active participation from tribal farmers of the village. A total of 60 beneficiary farmers (21 women and 39 men) received critical agricultural inputs such as urea and post-emergent herbicide (Novlect) under the TSP initiative.
The event was organized in coordination with KVK, Mandla. Dr. P.K. Singh, Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer (TSP), ICAR-DWR, delivered a technical lecture on the scientific application of herbicides and fertilizers in major kharif crops, particularly rice and maize, cultivated in the region. An interactive session followed, during which farmers shared their field-level problems. Appropriate scientific solutions and advisories were provided by Dr. Singh, Dr. Sahare, Head, KVK Mandla, and Dr. Ahirware, Scientist, KVK Mandla.
Dr. A. Jamaludheen and Dr. S.I. Kuwardadara, Scientists, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur, along with Mr. Mukesh Meena and Mr. Boss, Technical Staff, ICAR-DWR, efficiently coordinated the data recording and input distribution activities during the programme. In addition to the listed TSP beneficiaries, large number of farmers from nearby villages also attended the training programme, acknowledging the importance of the subject and its relevance to sustainable farming practices.
