A Farmer-Scientist interface meeting and awareness programme on "Central and State Government Schemes dedicated to Farmers" was successfully conducted on 23rd May 2025 at Khukkham and Ranipur villages of Kundam block, Jabalpur, under the Farmer FIRST Programme. The objective of this initiative was to educate farmers about various existing Central and State Government schemes specifically designed for their benefit, aiming to enhance their participation in and utilization of these schemes.
The meeting was led by Dr. P.K. Mukherjee, Principal Scientist and Principal Investigator (PI) of FFP. It was coordinated by Dr. Deepak Pawar and Dr. Jamaludheen A, both Scientists and Co-PIs. Dr. Monika Raghuwanshi, Senior Research Fellow (SRF), facilitated the programme. A total of 35 farmers, including 14 Mahila Kisans, actively participated in the meeting. Dr. P.K. Mukherjee emphasized the significance of these schemes in his introductory remarks, highlighting their potential benefits for agricultural development and farmer welfare. Following this, Dr. Monika Raghuwanshi provided detailed information on the various schemes, including their eligibility criteria, application procedures, and benefits.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Deepak Pawar delivered the vote of thanks to all the farmers for their active participation. This programme helped farmers gain valuable knowledge about government support and strengthened the link between farmers and scientists for the better development of agriculture in the region.
