A training programme on Hybrid Maize Production and Distribution of Critical Inputs was organized on 20th June 2025 at Khukkham village of Kundam block in Jabalpur district under the Farmer FIRST Programme (FFP).
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jamaludheen A., both Co-PIs of FFP, while Dr. Monika Raghuwanshi, Senior Research Fellow (SRF), facilitated the overall event. A total of 19 farmers including 7 Mahila Kisans participated in the programme, reflecting inclusive farmer engagement. During the technical session, Dr. P.K. Mukherjee, Principal Scientist and Principal Investigator (PI) of FFP, delivered a comprehensive and informative lecture on hybrid maize production. He discussed key aspects such as suitable hybrid varieties, improved agronomic practices, weed and nutrient management, and scientific approaches for enhanced productivity.
As a part of the programme, hybrid maize seeds were distributed to the 12 selected farmers including 5 Mahila Kisans as critical inputs to encourage on-field adoption of hybrid maize technology. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jamaludheen A, appreciating the active participation and support from all stakeholders involved.
