A Site Committee Meeting under the Farmer FIRST Programme (FFP) was held on 12th August 2025 at Khukkham village, Kundam block, Jabalpur, in the presence of Dr. P.K. Mukherjee, Principal Scientist and Principal Investigator, Dr. Shreekanth, Scientist and Co-PI, and Dr. Monika Raghuwanshi, Senior Research Fellow.
Dr. P.K. Mukherjee interacted with the farmers and shared information about upcoming activities such as the Parthenium Awareness Programme and the distribution of kodo and kutki seedlings. Farmers discussed the current situation of their crops and the issues they were facing, which were addressed by providing appropriate technological solutions. Farmers and FFP team members jointly visited the farmers’ fields to monitor the current condition of the rice crop, with special focus on weed infestation.
In this interface meeting, a total of 20 farmers, including 11 Mahila Kisans from Khukkham, Ranipur, and Padariya villages, attended and discussed the future activities of FFP. Finally, Dr. Monika Raghuwanshi made a brief presentation on the upcoming activities of FFP. The meeting proved to be an effective platform for farmer-scientist interaction and for planning the forthcoming action plan.
