A training-cum-input distribution Programme for Rabi 2025-26 was organized at Dungaria village, Mandla district under the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) by ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur. During the programme, farmers shared encouraging feedback, noting that the scientific guidance and inputs provided by ICAR-DWR during Kharif resulted in a 20-25% increase in paddy yield, significantly boosting their confidence and income.
Building on these positive outcomes, the Rabi initiative aimed to further enhance crop productivity in the region. A total of 60 tribal farmers were provided essential inputs for cultivating one acre of wheat. Each beneficiary received 40 kg of wheat seed (cv. GW 322), 45 kg of neem-coated urea, and one 160-g packet of Vesta (clodinafop + metsulfuron) for effective weed management. Training sessions focused on improved sowing methods, balanced nutrient management, and integrated weed management practices.
The programme was chaired by Dr. P. K. Singh, Principal Scientist and Chairman, TSP Committee, ICAR-DWR Jabalpur. Dr. J. K. Soni and Dr. Sahadeo IK, Scientists, along with Technical Officers Mr. M. K. Meena and Mr. S. K. Bose, interacted with the farmers and addressed their field-level queries. Farmers appreciated the continued support from ICAR-DWR, noting that timely inputs and expert guidance have greatly improved their farming practices.
