'Swachhta Pakhwada' was started at ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur on 16.12.2025. Director inaugurated the ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ on 16.12.2025 at ICAR-DWR Guest House and Dr. V.K. Choudhary, Pr. Scientist informed about the date wise activities to be done/organized during 16-31 December, 2025 at the Directorate and other places. Dr. VK Choudhary, Principal Scientist informed about the arrangements made to celebrate Swachhta Pakhwada. Banners of the Swachhta Pakhwada were displayed at main gate & prominent places of the Directorate. Swachhta Pledge (Oath) was taken by all the staff and committed to make self, community, society, villages, cities clean. Around 52 persons participated in the inaugural programme of Swachhata Pakhwada. Under the Swachhta Pakhwada awareness campaign, cleaning work was carried out at the Vermicompost unit located at the Directorate on December 17, 2025. On this occasion, Dr. V.K. Chaudhary, Principal Scientist informed the employees working at the vermicompost unit about the proper utilization of crop residues & Dr. K.K. Barman, Principal Scientist also briefed about the compost produced at the vermicompost unit and emphasized its role in the safe disposal of crop waste. Around 23 persons participated the above activities.
Under the Swachhta Pakhwada, 2025 initiative, files and other documents in the administrative section of the Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, were organized on December 18, 2025. Additionally, the Directorate premises were cleaned as part of the cleanliness drive. The e-Office and e-HRMS 2.0 systems are being used in the Directorate as per established procedures and have already been implemented. a cleanliness drive was conducted around the Directorate premises on December 19, 2025, and sanitation-related activities were carried out in the residential colony. The Director also encouraged communities to adopt sustainable sanitation practices and facilities through awareness campaigns and health education. a green drive is organized at the Directorate. During this event, a total of 50 marigold saplings under & beautification of plants under the cleanliness campaign and the Director of the Directorate sensitized all the staff presents about the importance of discontinuing the use of plastic.
Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), special efforts are being made to raise awareness about cleanliness and make society free from dirt and litter. With this objective, a cleanliness drive was conducted in the Maharajpur Housing Board Colony, located near the Directorate, as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The staff of the Directorate and prominent citizens of the colony participated in this program with great enthusiasm. on December 22, 2025, Dr. Jamaludheen A., Scientist from the Directorate, raised awareness about cleanliness among farmers and students of the unhen Primary School in Dungaria village, Mandla district, and encouraged them to participate in cleanliness activities. Additionally, officers and staff of the Directorate conducted cleanliness activities around the old guest house of the Directorate.
