A one-day training programme under ‘Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme’ was successfully organized at the ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research (DWR), Jabalpur on 27 January 2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of sensitizing officials and staff to the Karmayogi approach to public service like promoting Seva Bhaav, dedication, integrity, empathy, effective & efficient service delivery, and deep sense of responsibility for nation-building in public service. The training programme was delivered by Master Trainer Dr. Yogita Gharde, Senior Scientist, ICAR–DWR, who highlighted the core idea of the Rashtriya Karmayogi programme and emphasized the importance of aligning professional responsibilities with ethical values, accountability, and farmer-centric service delivery. She elaborated on how the programme aims to transform government employees from being role-oriented to purpose-driven Karmayogis committed to excellence and public welfare.
The sessions focused on key aspects of ‘Who is Rashtriya Karmayogi?’, ‘Expanding vision of success and fulfilment’, ‘Creating Karmayogi moments’ and ‘The Rashtriya Karmayogi as a Nation-Builder’. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their roles and responsibilities and adopt a service-oriented and proactive approach in their day-to-day functioning. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Deepak Pawar, Scientist and Incharge, HRD Section, ICAR–DWR, Jabalpur. While addressing the participants, Dr. J. S. Mishra, Director, ICAR–DWR, Jabalpur, highlighted that the Rashtriya Karmayogi Programme is a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening institutional efficiency and governance through value-based human resource development. He stressed that scientists, officers, and staff play a crucial role in nation-building and that sincerity, discipline, and commitment towards public service are essential for achieving organizational goals and contributing effectively to national development.
The training witnessed active participation of 40 participants, comprising scientists, technical staff, administrative staff, and skilled support staff of the Directorate. Interactive discussions and practical insights made the programme engaging and meaningful for the participants. The programme concluded with feedback from participants, who expressed that the training was informative, motivating, and helpful in enhancing their understanding of the Rashtriya Karmayogi mission and its relevance in strengthening institutional efficiency and public service delivery.
