An awareness-cum-training programme on “Balanced Use of Fertilizers” was conducted at Bamhnouda–Bamhnoudi village in the Panagar area of District Jabalpur. A total of 25 farmers participated in the programme, comprising 21 male and 4 female farmers.
During the programme, Dr. P. K. Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR–DWR, Jabalpur, delivered a comprehensive technical session on balanced nutrient management to improve soil health, enhance crop productivity, and ensure environmental sustainability. Farmers were sensitized on the importance of balanced fertilization through the Integrated Nutrient Management comprising the judicious use of all components like inorganic fertilizers, organic manures (FYM, vermicompost, compost, etc.), and biofertilizers like Rhizobium, Azotobacter, Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) culture with the principles of “right source, right dose, right time, and right method” as per crop requirements for enhanced nutrient use efficiency.
The programme was actively supported by Dr. Sahadeo I. K. and Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meena, who facilitated effective farmer interactions and awareness activities. The participants actively engaged in discussions and expressed their willingness to adopt balanced fertilization practices for sustainable agricultural production.
