On 17 September 2026, the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 was inaugurated at the ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, with the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhagita, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”. The Director, Dr. J. S. Mishra, inaugurated the campaign on 17 September 2026 at the Farm Section of the Directorate. Thereafter, Dr. V. K. Choudhary, Principal Scientist, briefed the staff about the activities scheduled to be carried out at the Directorate and other locations during the period from 17 September to 2 October 2026.
In his inaugural address, the Director highlighted the importance of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, adoption of environmentally friendly practices, proper use of toilets, handwashing and other good hygiene practices. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the office/campus as well as in the wider community and society.
Banners related to the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign were displayed at the main gate and other prominent locations of the Directorate. All the employees took the Swachhata Pledge and resolved to contribute towards keeping themselves, their communities, society, villages and cities clean. Approximately 49 employees participated in the inauguration programme of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, 2026.
